When I made this piece, I felt an aha. You know that feeling? There she is! It was one of the first times I felt like my work really matched me, something beyond the standard, and something that would give me so much joy to have in my own home. Playful and also elegant, somehow, with most beautiful tones and colors, a kind of something I never really knew was possible in ceramics.

Now I’m addicted to making them, and I’ll admit, I’m a little scared to give them names for fear of running out, so we’re just gonna run with a basic number system. These are pieces I make hand building following the form clay wants to be. Then decorated in a layering of glazes and sgraffito that makes my heart so happy. I hope you’ll love them like I do.
