AN UPDATE: We’ve raised enough to get Effie 3/4 of the way through single agent chemo. This is incredible. Keeping the fundraiser open just a bit longer in hopes of getting him all the way there. 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍

Hi there. If you’ve arrived at this page, it seems likely you know why we’re here. But just in case… I’ll try to keep it short. Simply put, this is a fundraiser to help Ephraim Blue (objectively the best boy™️) fight cancer. If you don’t know him personally, he is a longcoat Dalmatian; a one of a kind joy spreader, and everyone’s best friend. After undergoing emergency surgery over Thanksgiving, Effie has a confirmed diagnosis of lymphoma. It has been a long and exhausting journey, and the best course forward is chemotherapy. The good news is, overwhelmingly, dogs tolerate chemo better than humans, and with treatment, 90% of dogs achieve remission, and 25% live at least two years. Many, many pups have had long healthy joy filled lives after chemo. I know nothing is guaranteed, but without it, his prognosis is not good. And with those odds, all I know to do is try. Truth be told, I am beyond beyond tapped out and digging deep to see him through. Although we did a gofundme for his surgery, I still took on an insane amount of debt and used all my resources. I have nowhere left to pull from. But. I have no quit in me where he is concerned. He is my heart. A friend, and very talented artist, suggested we put together a raffle to raise funds for his care, and so we are. Many other talented artists and makers have offered to contribute pieces. Entries are $5 a piece, and pieces are valued from $50 - $1100. All the work you see has been donated by {mostly Brooklyn} artists and makers who love our boy and want to give him every chance.

We are launching this in celebration on his fifth birthday. Two months ago no one was sure he would make it this long, and we very nearly lost him. But we didn't, he is here, and so much stronger. And now we are at a crossroads again. Like with any cancer, time is of the essence, and the more we raise, the more quickly we can get him started. Honestly, I’ve already pushed it back further than the oncologist would have liked, but he and I needed time, and he also has a leg wound to heal, which has been the priority (sweet boy is recovering from a skin graft, when I tell you this has been a jour-ney). I know there is so much going on in the world right now, and I am beyond grateful to everyone taking a moment to help support our guy. We are so lucky to have you all in our corner.

And an extra big thank you so much to all the generous artists and makers who have donated pieces. It means everything.

With so, so much love, Kerri + Effie (+ friends)

  • Raffle launches January 31st (Effie’s 5th birthday 🤍) and ends February 7th at midnight. Winners will be notified by Feb. 10.

  • All items are available for local pick-up, shipping is the responsibility of the winner (typically $10-$20 per piece). If pieces are unclaimed by Feb 28, we’ll move on to another name.

AS AN ADDITIONAL FUNDRAISER - you can also purchase puzzles featuring our boy. You can either include it in your donation, or do it as a standalone purchase here. All proceeds go to support Effie.

GOALS - The purpose of these fundraisers is two fold - to help raise money for chemo, and to help pay down the debt from his surgery. How much we raise will play a key factor in what protocol Effie receives. There are different chemotherapy protocols, and all carry a different price tag. Treatment is payable per cycle, and even getting him started feels like a huge huge step in the right direction. The lowest chemo, single agent is $1300 to start, with 6 treatments repeating, and the gold standard chemo will cost $15,000 over time.

Anything raised above the costs of chemotherapy, will go towards covering the balance of his surgery. If you want to read more on his journey, his GoFundMe is here with updates along the way. You can also follow us on the socials, he is @our.boy.effie on Instagram. 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍 Happy birthday, bug, love you so.

IN IT FOR THE SURPRISE? OR JUST CAN”T DECIDE? YEAH, ME TOO. A SUPER TICKET GETS YOUR NAME IN EVERY. SINGLE. HAT. As items are added to the raffle, the price may increase, but this super ticket is locked in. No matter how many items there are in the end, your name will be in every. single. drawing.
